It is this second scenario that often creates the most confusion and potential risk. When a professional career involves different social security systems, pension entitlement may depend on factors such as the number of years contributed in each country, whether international agreements exist between those countries, the timing of the retirement application and the specific legal framework applicable in each jurisdiction.
