It is illegal to leave home without a reasonable excuse. This means that, whilst stay at home restrictions apply, it is illegal to travel abroad for holidays but you can travel for work, volunteering, education, medical or compassionate grounds, wedding, funerals and related events, there is a full list of other permitted reasons on the UKVI website. It will remain unlawful to leave the UK unless you have a reasonable excuse, when the stay at home requirement ends on 29 March 2021. From 8 March 2021 you will be required to complete a travel declaration form for travel outside the UK from England, to declare the reason that you need to travel abroad.
